An evening of Satoshiki Japanese whisky at Juraku, with live calligraphy by Masae "Seicho" Taniguchi, a New York-based master calligrapher who trained in Kyoto.

Dear You in the Future: A Kumamoto Charity Screening

A charity screening of "Dear You in the Future", presented by Japanese actor and singer Karen Iwata with Sound Healing Sanctuary and Noon Tan Entertainment. Doors at 6:40pm, an opening prayer and music performance at 7:00, the New York premiere screening from 7:30 to 8:30, and an informal gathering with the guests at 9:00. Admission is free, and there is a donation box at the venue for those affected by the Kumamoto earthquake of 28 July 2026. Juraku is sponsoring the evening and serving the food and drinks. It is at Middle Church on East 7th Street, not at Juraku.

Okonomiyaki Day with Otafuku

October 10th is Okonomiyaki Day in Japan, because ju-ju is both 10-10 and the sound okonomiyaki makes on the griddle. Otafuku Sauce made the day official in 2006, and we are doing something with them around it. Our okonomiyaki fries will be involved. Details to come.
