Mentaiko Mazemen: A Creamy, Spicy, and Utterly Addictive Ramen Twist

We like taking classic Japanese flavors and giving them a playful, comforting twist. Our Mentaiko Mazemen does exactly that. It's our spin on mentai pasta, a beloved Japanese dish, with ramen noodles standing in for spaghetti.

What Is Mentaiko?

Mentaiko is spicy cod roe, especially prized in Fukuoka for its salty, spicy, umami-rich flavor. At Juraku, it comes together with butter, heavy cream, and shio into a luxurious sauce that coats springy ramen noodles.

What Makes It Special

  • Thick, chewy ramen noodles instead of pasta
  • Creamy, savory flavor that feels like upscale comfort food
  • Shiso leaf and crushed nori on top for extra umami and texture

Pair it with a crisp Japanese lager or a shochu.
