Hinomaru Whisky: A Bold Expression of Japanese Craftsmanship at Izakaya Juraku
One of the more exciting new names in Japanese whisky is Hinomaru, produced by the Kiuchi Distillery, a brewery and distillery with deep roots in Japan.
The History of Hinomaru Whisky
Hinomaru Whisky is crafted by the Kiuchi Distillery, a family-run business that has been producing sake and shochu for over 200 years. Located in Ibaraki Prefecture, Kiuchi is best known for its Hitachino Nest Beer, one of Japan's most famous craft beer brands. Drawing on their extensive brewing expertise, Kiuchi entered the world of whisky-making, combining traditional Japanese techniques with the influence of Scottish whisky craftsmanship.

- Copper pot stills: traditional Scottish-style pot stills allow for a rich and complex distillation
