The Cecilia Gault Cocktails: A Tribute to an Artist and Friend at Izakaya Juraku
At Izakaya Juraku, we love to celebrate the people who make our space special. Few embody that spirit more than Cecilia Gault, an actress, singer, and longtime friend of the restaurant. She's more than just a regular; she's part of the soul of Juraku. So much so that she has a dedicated wall in the restaurant, featuring a signed poster she gifted us, a signed guitar, and two exclusive posters from a photoshoot we did together to commemorate the launch of two cocktails inspired by her. The photoshoot was done in collaboration with TenTenNYC, a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting artists. These drinks, Hidari Chichi and Migi Chichi, are a reflection of her artistry, style, and influence.
Cecilia Gault: The Rising Star
Born and raised in New York City, Cecilia Gault has carved out an impressive career as both an actress and a singer-songwriter. With roots in both Japan and Ireland, she embodies a unique cultural blend that is reflected in her music and artistic presence.
A Musical Journey
Cecilia's music incorporates electro-pop, R&B, and alternative influences. Her sultry vocals, intricate production, and emotionally charged lyrics distinguish her in the industry. She has gained recognition through various performances and collaborations, with featured tracks accumulating millions of streams. Her artistry draws from her diverse background, blending Western and Eastern elements into a distinctive sound.
Beyond her solo work, Cecilia has been featured in major productions, collaborating with renowned producers and artists in the pop and electronic music scene. Her distinct voice and stylistic versatility have earned her a growing global fanbase, and she continues to push creative boundaries with each release.
Acting & Influence
In addition to her music career, Cecilia has ventured into acting, bringing her unique charisma to both television and film projects. Her ability to seamlessly transition between performing for camera and on stage speaks to her incredible talent and versatility as an artist.
What we love about having her around isn't the résumé. It's the warmth and creativity she brings every time she visits. We wanted to capture that in cocktail form, which is how Hidari Chichi and Migi Chichi came to be.
Hidari Chichi: The Essence of Cecilia Gault
Hidari Chichi, named after Cecilia's artist moniker, is a drink that captures her elegance and vibrant personality. A balance of floral and fruit-forward flavors, this cocktail is both delicate and striking, much like Cecilia's music.
- Takara Jun Shochu — a light and aromatic base that enhances the tropical notes
- Elderflower Liqueur — adds floral sweetness and depth
- Lychee Liqueur — amplifies the signature fruity profile
- Mio Sparkling Sake — brings a refined effervescence, mirroring Cecilia's bubbly charm
- Garnish: a sprinkle of pink glitter and a baby rosebud, a nod to Cecilia's ethereal and elegant aesthetic
It's graceful and a little unexpected, which felt right for her.
Migi Chichi: A Bold and Complex Expression
While Hidari Chichi captures Cecilia's soft and dreamy side, Migi Chichi represents depth, intensity, and a refined taste. This drink brings together citrus, umami, and aged flavors, embodying the layers of Cecilia's artistry.
- Zuisen Hakuryu Awamori — a rich, Okinawan spirit known for its bold and slightly earthy taste
- Yuzu — a bright citrus element that cuts through with refreshing acidity
- Elderflower Liqueur — provides a delicate floral touch
- Mito no Kairakuen (5-Year-Aged Umeshu) — a deep, complex Japanese plum liqueur that adds warmth and balance
It's a drink for people who like depth and contrast in a cocktail, much like her career.
A Tribute to Friendship & Artistry
