October at Juraku: Community, cocktails, comfort food, and bombs

Dear friends,

As we move into October, I want to take a moment to thank all of you who have supported us. Whether you stopped in for a drink, joined one of our events, or just spread the word, you are what keeps Juraku alive and buzzing.

We also want to thank everyone who came out for this year’s Showdown Chinatown and showed love to the community. Your energy made the night unforgettable. A big thank you as well to our sponsors who helped make it all possible. It is events like these that remind us why we do what we do: to gather people together, celebrate culture, and create memories.

This month we are bringing back one of last year’s favorites: the Hojicha Old Fashioned. It is made with Satoshiki single grain whisky and roasted hojicha tea, but this time we are adding just a mist of Laphroaig 10-year Scotch. That touch of smoke and herbiness takes the cocktail to a new level, perfect for the fall season.

It is also the right weather to dig into some of our comfort dishes. Our Brown Butter Ramen is rich and satisfying, our Oden is warming and soulful, and our Nikujaga brings that classic Japanese home-cooked feeling to the table.

We also want to share something important with you. New York has lifted the cap on how much delivery platforms can charge restaurants. That means fees for takeout and delivery have gone up by around 25 percent. We really do not want to raise our menu prices, so if you are planning to order from us, please consider using our Toast page (direct from our website). As a thank you, you can use the code DIRECT to save 20 percent when you order that way. It helps us keep prices fair and keeps more support in the community.

We hope to see you soon for a drink, a meal, or a Matcha Sake Bomb. Thank you again for being part of our community.

See you at the bar,
Kiyo and the Juraku team
